Bakery Krachenfels is fighting for survival: future of the traditional bakery uncertain!

One of the oldest bakeries in Germany, the traditional bakery in Krachenfels, has filed for bankruptcy! After almost 340 years in business, the shock wave has swept through the Black Forest. The bakery, which has existed since 1686, has already closed several branches in recent months, including in Villingen-Schwenningen and Trossingen. A difficult blow for the region and the 210 employees who are now worried about their future.

But there is a glimmer of hope: the salaries of the employees concerned are initially secured by bankruptcy money. Georg Krachenfels, who heads the third -generation family company, is combative: "Our goal is to strengthen and continue the Krachenfels bakery for the future." The question remains whether it will be possible to save the traditional brand while the competition in the industry does not sleep.

The situation of the employees

The uncertainty hovers over the minds of the employees while waiting for developments in bankruptcy. The closures of the branches are an alarming sign of the challenges with which the bakery is confronted. This is not the first case in the industry: just recently another large bakery chain from southern Germany reported bankruptcy. The future of the Krachenfels bakery remains uncertain, but the hope of a turn continues.
