A violent incident in Stuttgart's gang scene has led to the reopening of a murder trial after a lay judge looked at his cell phone and read a WhatsApp message during a trial. Details about the incident
Hasan T. suffered massive injuries during the attack, but was rescued despite significant blood loss and respiratory paralysis. In addition to the main defendants, a third suspect, Azad G. (21), is also in custody and is said to have sawed up the murder weapon after the crime and buried it in the forest. According to public prosecutor Peter Holzwarth, the defendants drove to the opposing gang leader's local bar and called out his name before Steven G. shot Hasan T. three times, while Eren B. also shot but did not hit.
The trial will last a total of 14 days, with a verdict expected on April 29th. The defendants face up to ten years in prison. Judge Verena Alexander has high hopes that cell phones will not be used during the trial in order to avoid further escapades.
