An outcry by the Fasnets enthusiasts! On Tuesday morning, the date for the Bundestag election was set on February 23-and that falls exactly on the big OHA meeting in Ostrach! While the political waves are beating, the fools prepare for their annual spectacle, which is to take place on the same weekend. A drama for the organizers!

The OHA meeting, which is organized by the guilds Ostrach, Herbertingen, Altshausen and Scheer, attracts around 3000 fools every year. Guild master Rolf Reiky is already in turmoil: "My phone didn't stand up this morning!". Despite the new announcement of election, the fool's meeting remains for no avail. "The invitations are already out and we cannot simply cancel or lay the OHA," he explains.

Polling station must give way

The Buchbühlhalle, which normally serves as a polling station, will be used for the guild master reception on Sunday. "The polling station will probably be moved to the gym of the elementary school," said Reiky. There are two polling stations right next to each other - a pragmatic solution in the middle of the chaos! "We still have a few village community houses, we will find a place," he adds.

The moving route must also be adjusted, since constant access to the town hall must be guaranteed on election day. "We see it all very relaxed," says the guild master. "This is not a broken leg now. There is nothing for which there is no solution." And that is the real carnival mentality - even in turbulent times, the focus is on fun!
