Criticism of biotonna strategy: Is the Black Forest Baar district on the wrong track?

A reader from Villingen-Schwenningen, Dieter Fuchsmann, sees the new biotonna strategy of the district of Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis critically. In an open letter he comments on his concerns and wonders whether the course has really been the right one.

Fuchsmann emphasizes that the argument that too little organic waste would be produced in the Black Forest Baar district was not expedient. He finds it inappropriate to advertise a new brown ton when the amount of organic waste is not sufficient. This could send the wrong signal to the population, which could possibly assume that the relevance of waste separation will not be taken seriously.

uncertainty about the biotonna initiative

The list of new biotons could prove to be unnecessary effort, says Fuchsmann. Instead, the focus should possibly be aware of the sensitization of citizens for the correct waste separation in order to increase bioma waste production sustainably. This strategy could contribute more to clarify and less to introduce additional tons. Fuchsmann's clear message is that the administration should take the concerns of the citizens seriously before starting such a decisive measure.
