Horb on alert: cat disease leads to massive deaths!

Horb, Deutschland - alarming messages from Germany: The cat disease, also known as parvovirosis, spreads rapidly! Several cats and even small kittens have already died in Horb, and those responsible raise the alarm. But that's not all - the dangerous illness does not stop at other cities! Villingen-Schwenningen and Albstadt also have to deal with the massive outbreak and are in great concern.

"We can already say for the Black Forest Baar district that this is going on," warns Cornelia Gaigl, the chairwoman of the Villingen-Schwenningen animal welfare association. The disease shows itself to be highly contagious and is often fatal without treatment: a rapidly advanced enemy, against which many veterinary measures often come too late. "The cats are giving us away," complains Nadine Vögel, head of the animal shelter in Donaueschingen, about the dramatic conditions. Ten cats could not be saved recently! The situation is devastating and the experts agree: here urgently needs to be traded.

The threat grows

The cat disease has strengthened this year, and the current variant seems to be even more aggressive. The animal shelter manager therefore urgently demands tightening cat protection: castrations and registrations should be mandatory! "Less wild cats mean fewer cat disease," said Vögel. While many cities have issued corresponding regulations, they are still missing in some municipalities of the Black Forest Baar district, including Gütenbach and Furtwangen. The trained veterinary office in the Zollernalbkreis reports on worrying developments with proven virus in Albstadt and the surrounding area. Tens of thousands of cats could be in danger!

The authorities also warn: cats can infect wild animals at any time, and unprotected domestic cats are particularly at risk. "Vaccination is the only sensible way to protect cats from parvovirosis," emphasizes Marisa Hahn from the veterinary offices. In the region it is clear: If you love your cat, you have to act now! The life of many animals depends on the urgency and effectiveness of the measures.
