Donaueschingen: Music days inspire 8000 visitors with sound art!
Donaueschingen, Deutschland - Donaueschingen - a special sound fireworks! Experience the captivating world of new music at the Donaueschingen music days, which have impressively showed that even the most subtle sounds can have an unexpected effect. Elsa biston installation "As fragile as possible" in the Art-Plus museum offered visitors: inside the opportunity to listen to the quiet tones of nature-a musical dance of the leaves that invites you to silence in life. But that was only the quiet side of a remarkable festival. Late evening, visitors in the Erich-Kästner-Hall were banned in the spell of Phill Niblock's powerful Klang-Orkan, which swept through the loudspeakers like an acoustic tornado.
An overwhelming increase of 20 percent! Around 8,000 music lovers flocked to 15 thrilling concerts, performances and installations that covered all sound facets of contemporary music. With over 90 percent occupancy of the cards - a real music festival for the city! The opportunity for locals to purchase reduced cards for just 12 euros was enthusiastically accepted. This is impressive in the sales figures: from 234 in the previous year to 376 this year - a reason to be happy for Mayor Erik Pauly!
inspiration and innovation
"With the music days, Donaueschingen will always become the capital of contemporary music in October," said Pauly, who is enthusiastic about new program ideas. The artistic director Lydia Rilling followed the vision of the opening in the second year of her term. Under the motto "Alonetogether", the festival combines intimate and public, and stimulates debates on topics from meditation to political aspects of sound art. Even outdoors, where the city becomes a sound space, many locals took the opportunity to interact with art. Especially in the Karlsgarten, the auditory bridge to the Japanese twin town of Kaminoyama attracted many visitors who could enjoy sounds under the cherry tree.
Fabian Czolbe was pleased with the encouragement in his tours and provided numerous locals possible access to impressive installations. In the Art-Plus Museum, the sound installations recorded around 2,000 visitors, some of which became music. This offered the perfect opportunity to arouse curiosity about new music and to transform the festival into an unforgettable experience for everyone! A real ceremony of sound art in Donaueschingen, which still sounds for a long time!
