DRK Schiltach: Rescue guard goes in the continuous project phase!
The German Red Cross (DRK) is currently facing a significant change in medical emergency care in the Rottweil region. While the closure of emergency practices is worrying, there are also positive developments. The rescue station in Schiltach will go into the project phase to secure the auxiliary periods.
Ralf Bösel, the district manager of the DRK, recently expressed his resentment about the closings, but now he can optimistically report that the rescue station in Schiltach will be consistently staffed from May 2025. This project was decided in a meeting of the area committee on October 18, whereby the number of operations in the region was analyzed again.
project phase for two years
The planning stipulates that the Schiltach rescue station is continuously occupied during a 24-month phase. This decision should be made taking into account the current operating figures and requirements of the emergency services plan. The aim is to ensure continuous emergency care through the support of the population and relevant actors.
The official occupation in Schiltach was previously only given during the day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Now the extensive participation in missions is expected to improve medical emergency care in the area. The DRK plans to carry out continuous evaluations during the project phase. These analyzes will help to make improvements and to define further extensions.
Together for better emergency care
In particular, the Schiltacher citizens hoped for this decision and supported it by writing to politics and local companies. A decisive meeting took place in July 2024 in the Schiltach town hall, in which State Secretary Tomas Blenke and MdL Stefan Teufel took part. It was emphasized that joint efforts with the payers will have a positive impact on emergency care.
expectations are high that the continuous occupation of the Schiltach rescue station not only increases the efficiency of the operations, but also strengthens the trust of the population in medical care on site. The final evaluation of whether a so -called reservation expansion will be made in 2027 takes place after a careful analysis of the collected number of operations.
