Schwäbisch Gmünd: largest Christmas market with new culinary highlights!
Schwäbisch Gmünd. The Christmas market is in full swing! On November 28th, the city's largest Christmas market will be opened with impressive 83 huts. Event manager Robert Frank from Tourismus & Marketing GmbH is enthusiastic about the new culinary offers, including Italian delicacies such as cheese and salami. A highlight is the "Santa Bührs" hut at Café Bührs, which remains open until January 6th and offers hot drinks and cozy seats.
But that's not all! Security is very important! After the terrifying knife attacks in other cities, the security concept has experienced a comprehensive revision. In addition to the municipal regulatory service and the police, additional security forces will patrol on the market in order to strengthen the feeling of security of the visitors. However, there will be no pocket controls, as this would require a complete shutdown. Frank emphasizes that you do not have to worry about it at the moment, but the safety precautions are at a high level.
Who takes care of the garbage?
The anticipation for the Christmas market also brings challenges. There is also a lot of garbage with many visitors! The municipal construction company ensures the elimination, and the stand operators must ensure that there are sufficient trash can. Frank explains that the operators are encouraged to fold cardboard boxes and not to have the trash cans overflow. The preparations are not only festive, but also logistically demanding!
The question remains: do people also come when the weather does not play along? Frank hopes for dry weather, because that could be crucial for the success of the market. "The main thing is that it doesn't rain!" Says his optimistic assessment.
