Karlsruhe riots on Christmas Eve: man spends the night in a cell!
For a 39-year-old man from Karlsruhe, Christmas Eve in Landau did not end peacefully, but rather turbulently. After a heated argument in a gas station on Maximilianstrasse, the police had to be alerted. At 8:30 p.m., a conflict between the man and another customer escalated, which brought officers to the scene. When the police arrived, they were met by the aggressive man who was shouting loudly Palatinate Express reported.
The police were forced to expel the man, which he initially complied with hesitantly. But less than half an hour later, the police received another emergency call: the man had returned and vehemently stood in the way of an employee at the gas station after he was refused a beer. An aggressive appearance and insulting statements left the officers no choice: the man was taken into custody and spent the rest of the evening in a cell at the Landau police station. Several criminal proceedings were initiated against him, including for bodily harm, insults and threats, such as South German newspaper reported.
