Horrible accident on the A6: cars collide, driver injured!

There was a serious accident on the A6 motorway between Bretzfeld and Weinsberg on Monday, involving several cars. A car crashed into a pickup truck, which was then thrown into a tractor-trailer. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The motorway had to be closed in the direction of Heilbronn, which led to significant traffic delays. A large number of firefighters, emergency doctors and highway police were on site to clear the scene of the accident, as debris was spread across the entire road. How SWR reported, traffic was diverted to the Bretzfeld junction, but disruption to rush-hour traffic continued to be significant.

Construction site at Weinsberger Kreuz

At the same time, construction work on the Weinsberger Kreuz is also underway. Autobahn GmbH is renovating the roadway in the direction of Mannheim, which is expected to lead to minimal traffic restrictions as most of the work will be done at night. Construction work on the road itself will begin from September 11, 2024. Traffic will be routed past the construction site with two lanes in the direction of Nuremberg and three lanes in the direction of Heilbronn/Mannheim. This construction project extends over approximately five kilometers and is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024. The PWC facility Sulmtal (North) will be closed during the entire construction period from September 4, 2024 Autobahn.de reported.
