Eleven -year -old cyclist crashes after a collision with VW in Herbrechtingen!

A dramatic incident occurred in Herbrechtingen this morning when an eleven-year-old boy collided on his children's bike with a 71-year-old driver. Shortly before 7:30 a.m., the boy drove on the sidewalk of the "Lange Strasse", while the senior was traveling with his VW and wanted to turn left onto a parking space. He overlooked the cyclist, which led to a collision in which the boy flew over the hood and landed on the street. Fortunately, both road users were on the road at low speed, so the impact was not violent.

According to reports, the boy was not injured, which makes the situation a little easier. The Giengen police have started the investigation and found that the boy banned the sidewalk and also had no lighting facility on his bike. The property damage to the car amounts to around 1000 euros, while the bike remained undamaged.

important traffic rules for children

The road traffic regulations are clear: road users have to use the lanes, sidewalks are taboo for vehicles. But special rules apply to children: You have to drive on the sidewalk by the age of year, and you can do this up to the age of time. These regulations are crucial to ensure the safety of little cyclists and to avoid accidents like this.
