The Witt Oberpfalz Hunters had to surrender to the Young Tigers Tübingen with 65:80 in the first home game of the year in the youth basketball Bundesliga (JBBL). The game took place in the Weiden Realschulhalle in front of around 200 spectators and offered an exciting first half, in which the Hunters led with 46:39 at half -time.
Despite the strong opening, in which Tübingen took the lead with six three -point throws in the first quarter (25:20), the Hunters managed to clearly dominate the second quarter. In the second half, however, the performance of the Hunters collapsed. The Tübingen scored four more three -point throws and benefited from intensive rebound work. The Hunters only came to 19 points in the second half and thus clearly lost the last quarter to which Tübingen went with a 56: 52 lead. Coach Gabriel Ionescu said after the game that the team was not yet at their level and that important players are missing.
