Organic Christmas joy: Advent campaigns inspire in the Swabian Alb!
In a festive commitment to the upcoming holidays, twelve institutions as well as an association and a company from the Alb-Donau-Kreis, Esslingen and Reutlingen districts have created Advent campaigns as part of the organic pattern region Biosphere Alb. As Schwaebische.de reports, these participants receive Christmas trees from organic cultivation and the use of regional bio-products to promote. This year the trees come from the organic farm Albante from Bad Urach and are part of a program that encourages schools and other educational institutions in the region to integrate local and seasonal ingredients into their Christmas dishes.
creativity and regionality in focus
The concept stipulates that the participating facilities use at least five organic ingredients for their Christmas menus, including three from regional providers and contribute a festive grade. The variety of menus ranges from traditional dishes such as Alb lenses with spaetzle to modern creations such as pumpkin soup and apple crumble, as reported, for example, by schools in the Alb-Donau district, including the Michel Buck School and the St. Martinus Hospiz in Kirchbierlingen. Various educational institutions, such as the Gustav Heinemann School in Münsingen, are also actively involved in the program in the district of Reutlingen.
The organic pattern region Biosphere area Schwäbische Alb not only strives to support ecological farming, but also to raise awareness of regional, biological food. According to Biomusterregions-bw.de , the sustainable development in the region is promoted by organizing projects along the value chains and the expansion of regional outdoor catering. With this initiative, love for high -quality and environmentally friendly food is intended to establish an ecologically sustainable culture in the region.
