On January 7, 2025, the Three Kings brought mild temperatures to southwestern Germany. In Ohlsbach, a place in the Ortenaukreis, the highest temperature was measured at 17.7 degrees Celsius. High values were also registered in other places in the region: Emmendingen recorded 17.5 degrees and Waghäusel-Kirrlach 17.2 degrees. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures of over 13 degrees in January are considered "unusually mild".

Although the temperatures have not broken a certain record for January, they remain remarkable. The record from New Year's Day 2023 is unchanged at 19.5 degrees in Freiburg and 19.4 degrees in Ohlsbach. However, the current mild temperatures will not be permanent because a change in the weather is imminent. From the night of Wednesday, snow is expected above 400 meters in Baden-Württemberg, while rain falls in the lowlands. An interplay of the weather with a lot of variance in a short time is forecast.
