State government is investing 5.6 million euros for protective places in Böblingen and Rottweil

A groundbreaking step for the protection of women and children in Germany! The state government of Baden-Württemberg is investing a proud 5.6 million euros in the construction of two new women's and child protection houses in the districts of Böblingen and Rottweil. These urgently needed institutions will offer barrier -free protection places for up to 28 women and their children and aim to effectively combat violence against women and domestic violence.

"Violence against women and children is a problem for society as a whole," emphasizes State Secretary Dr. Ute suffered. In a country that is committed to equality and protection of all citizens, it is essential that each region has suitable protective places. The new shelters are a ray of hope for many affected people who are often caught in the darkness of violence.

Details on the new shelters

In the Rottweil district, 1.79 million euros flow into the St. Francis Foundation, which will build a new shelter with twelve barrier -free places. The total costs amount to around 2.4 million euros. In the district of Böblingen, the country will support the costs for a shelter with 16 flexibly usable residential units with around 3.8 million euros, which offer space for up to 25 people. This innovative structure also enables women to record women with older sons, which has often been an obstacle in the past.

The completion of both facilities is planned for 2027. These new shelters are not only an answer to the urgent needs of society, but also a step in the implementation of the Istanbul Convention, which is committed to protection against violence against women. Baden-Württemberg shows that it takes responsibility seriously to protect women and children in need and enable them to live non-violent.
