Galleries are thriving in the Böblingen district's vibrant art scene! The city gallery in Sindelfingen presents the captivating exhibition “Shadows are Phantoms” with the impressive abstract works of Chris Succo. At the same time, the installation “Anatomy of Non-Fact” by Martyna Marciniak in the shop window inspires young art. Both exhibitions can be viewed free of charge until January 19th and March 2nd. The works of Hicham Berrada, a talented Moroccan artist, can also be seen in the city gallery on the market square - a mixture of installations, sculptures and video works that can be admired until February 16th!
Another highlight is the exhibition “Transformation” by Sarah Lehnert, which was inspired by Franz Kafka’s story. This can be seen in the Oberlichtsaal until December 21st. Art meets science in the Schauwerk, where works by four artists that were created during a fellowship at the Schaufle Lab @TU Dresden are presented. The show runs until April 27th and promises an exciting combination of art and science.
Diverse exhibitions in Böblingen
In Böblingen, the district office invites you to the exhibition “Art under 999”, which shows works by regional artists whose prices are a maximum of 999 euros. This is accessible until January 24th. The Böblinger Kunstverein is presenting two exhibitions in the Old District Court, including “Head Matter” by Hans Mendler, which can be seen until December 23rd. The Schacher 2 gallery is showing a selection of five works of art by various artists under the title “High 5. Best of Schacher”, which can be admired in the shop window until January 26th.
The municipal museums in Böblingen also offer a wide range of art and history, with opening hours from Wednesday to Friday and on weekends. A special art project by Marinus van Aalst, which deals with the history of the Second World War in Böblingen, is shown in the basement of the cemetery chapel and is accessible on the first Sunday of the month from March to November. The art scene in the region is lively and diverse - a must for every art lover!
