Maximilian Bangert: From young talent to the national team!

Maximilian Bangert, a 15-year-old volleyball star, did it! He was appointed to the U17 national team and is now part of the 24-member squad, which is represented by Germany at international tournaments. After a nerve -wracking nomination, in which he was the first to be called, he said: "I was extremely nervous, but then I was relieved and grateful. I am very happy that I did it!"

The talented diagonal player who visits the Munderkingen secondary school has made an impressive career. At the age of only seven he started at TG Biberach and already celebrated the first successes in the U12. His journey took him through numerous championships and finally to the South District Camer, where he and his team won the title at the Baden-Württemberg sighting tournaments. 2023 followed the promotion to the association squad, which made it possible for him international tournaments.

Future

Maximilian will now regularly take part in multi-day courses and national and international tournaments. His first tournament with the U17 national team was in October 2024 at the U18 Federal Cup in Schwerin. There the team will compete against strong competition. Maximilian also plays in the U18 and U20 for TG Biberach and also trains at VfB Friedrichshafen, where he has the chance to play in the 2nd Bundesliga. "With good development, there is the possibility that Max can play at VfB Friedrichshafen 2nd Bundesliga," says TG Biberach.

His family, especially his father Andrej Bangert, who himself played at the Bundesliga level and is active as a trainer, supports him. Maximilian's way to the volleyball elite is paved, and the volleyball world is looking forward to this aspiring star!
