Fight for education: Aalen wants to renovate schools despite the financial crisis!

In the midst of dark financial prospects, the municipalities in the Ostalbkreis, especially Aalen, fight for the urgently needed funds for education and support. The Karl Kessler School in Wasseralfingen is a lighthouse project for upcoming renovations and extensions, but the money crisis is urging the city to put everything on the gold scales. Mayor Frederick Brütting is faced with the challenge of deciding a household that, despite the permanently trapped budgets, keeps the important educational policy projects alive.

"We don't want to compromise on the implementation of educational projects," explains Brütting in a passionate appeal. But the reality looks different: Due to falling tax revenue and increasing expenses for the circle, the city must make considerable cuts in the investment program. Many readers of the southwest press express that the condition of the school buildings is intolerable and demand more support from the country. Over 39 percent of the respondents in the Ostalb district want targeted investments in the renovation of daycare and school buildings.

The unsustainable location of the all -day schools

The pressure on the municipalities is growing, because from 2026 parents of elementary school students have a legal right to all -day care. One participant in the survey makes it clear: "There is a lack of infrastructure and staff for all -day schools!" The legitimate skepticism hovers in the air, as very few municipalities already have the necessary equipment. Applications of funding can finally be made, but the uncertainty about the allocation of these funds remains a great obstacle.

The criticism of the government of Baden-Württemberg is loud. "The country cannot tell us when we receive funding," said Brütting frustrated. The shortcomings that have so far been determined on school buildings and the equipment are alarming and pressing the responsibility in the responsibility. Parents and teachers do not cheer, but demand justice and support in an education system that suffers from financial tightness in many ways.
