Demolition deadlines in Halle: tram route closed, construction work underway!
In Halle (Saale) there is great excitement! A dilapidated building on the orphanage wall is on the hit list: The questionable structure must be completely demolished by November 11th! This drastic measure means that the adjacent tram route between Franckeplatz and Riebeckplatz will remain closed until the work is completed. The trams have been stopped, but that does not mean that the area is quiet!
Instead, an impressive spectacle of construction vehicles and machines can be observed! A spokesman for the municipal utilities explains that the closure of the route will be used to carry out significant tamping and straightening work. Normally such work could cause terrible noise if done at night, but now everything is going according to plan. Track work on the ramp to Franckeplatz and an inspection of the contact wire along Franckestrasse are just some of the tasks being completed during this busy time.
Intensive construction work in Halle
These lightning-fast measures are important to improve infrastructure and ensure security. With the tram line at a standstill, workers are seizing the opportunity to make progress that would otherwise only be possible under the most oppressive conditions. Halle and its residents can look forward to a safe and brand new means of transport as soon as the construction work is completed!
