Aalen's new leadership: A breath of fresh air in the town hall with strong women!

There is a breath of fresh air in Aalen! The mayor Frederick Brütting ceremoniously introduced the city's new administration lines. He was able to welcome Ricarda Grünig, who now heads the newly created Office for Tourism, and Andreas Niegel, who will take over the Office for Citizen Services and Public Order. Juliane Ulbert, who is responsible for the Office for Equal Opportunities, Demographic Change and Integration, is also part of the new team. A real power trio that could take the city down new paths!

Franciska Glavas brings fresh ideas

Another highlight was the official appointment of Franciska Glavas as the new head of the Office for Environment and Climate Protection. The 36-year-old landscape architect is moving from Göppingen to Aalen and brings a lot of experience with her. She has held her previous position as head of the environmental protection and green space department since October 2023. Brütting is enthusiastic: “We are pleased to have Ms. Glavas, a manager with the relevant experience, on board.”

The path to a climate-neutral city

With Glavas at the helm, the Office for Green Spaces and Climate Protection, which has 30 employees, will make a crucial contribution to the vision of a climate-neutral city by 2035. Before her time in Göppingen, Glavas already worked in Schorndorf and gained valuable experience in project management and the redesign of sports areas. She received her academic foundation at the University of Economics and Environment in Nürtingen-Geislingen, where she successfully completed her studies in landscape architecture in 2012.

The new managers were elected by the local council in June and are now officially in their positions. This is an important step for the city of Aalen, because these new trunk lines could have a decisive impact on the face of the city!
