Council of Ministers in Vienna: Everything about the important date on November 18th!

The next Council of Ministers will take place in the House on Tuesday 18 November 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The event, which will be held in the auditorium of the Parliament in Vienna, will be attended by several prominent government representatives. These include Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler, Federal Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger and Federal Minister Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer. A press foyer is planned for the media from 11:00 a.m., which will offer the opportunity to ask questions and receive information directly after the Council of Ministers. The OTS points out that entry via the main entrance to the parliament is possible from 10:15 a.m.

Photo ID is required for media professionals who wish to attend without a permanent admission ticket. Press badges must be requested in the Democratium, also known as the Agora. This is done upon presentation of a valid press card or a letter of credit from a media company. Current information on this process can be found at Media information from the Federal Chancellery.

Press accreditation and conditions of participation

Accreditation for media representatives is a central process that is necessary for participation in events organized by the federal government and the Austrian presidential office. For the upcoming Council of Ministers, the authorities recommend getting accredited early. This registration takes place via an online accreditation form that must be completed. This requires information about a valid email address, password and security question. A recent color photo is also required, although scans of documents will not be accepted.

When accrediting for the first time, all information must be provided completely, as applications will only be processed then. Media representatives must also attach their valid press card or their company's letter of credit. The accreditation card, which is necessary for participation in press program items, is not transferable and must be worn visibly during the event. An official photo ID must be shown at all times to verify identity.

There is also the option of a permanent access card for media representatives who regularly take part in events. The prerequisite for this is residence in Germany and proof of journalistic activity. The Federal Chancellery reserves the right to reject accreditations for factual or security reasons. If you have any questions, the responsible offices are available by telephone and email.
