Dead fish in the university pond: Researchers warn of secret dropouts!

At the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, an unfortunate encounter causes excitement: a large number of dilapped fish was discovered in the pond on campus after the ice layer was finally thawed. These non-home fish, which were exposed to unknown persons in the pond, apparently could not withstand the freezing temperatures and were frozen on the frozen surface. "The water is tested regularly and so far there have been no defects," explains Alexander Freiklager, Vice Rector for Campus Development. In the coming days, the dead are to be collected by the Federal Real Estate Society (BIG) and properly disposed of, as reported.

The campus in upheaval

But that's not the only challenge with which the university is faced with. In the background, Freilcher works on two important projects: the TNF tower and the new technical center in need of renovation. These developments are part of his comprehensive responsibility as an Operation manager, where he heads eight large administrative departments and leads a team of 140 employees. "We also did many little things to make the campus more livable," says Frechlager, adding that the campus was equipped with furniture that should give students and employees a pleasant stay, as diemacher.at reports.

As someone who studied at the JKU and is now working there, Freiklager describes the university as a small universe full of positive topics and education. "It is important that both students and professors shape the university together," he emphasizes. Despite his responsible job, he sees it as his duty to give the employees an open ear and build up trusting relationships. This culture could be crucial for how the university deals with challenges such as the currently deceased fish volume.
