Düsseldorf celebrates reading festival: Whether Keller delights children in the town hall!
An exciting event in the heart of Düsseldorf! Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller held a reading hour for around 25 children from the Bilker Service School on Thursday, November 14, 2024. This was done as part of the "Düsseldorf Reading Festival 2024", which is under the motto of promoting love for literature and education. Keller, the patron of the reading festival, chose the popular book "A week full of Saturdays" by Paul Maar to bring the children closer to the importance of reading.
The reading festival, which will take place for the 16th time this year, offers over 60 readings, workshops and interactive events for around 10,000 children from November 11th to 19th. The event not only attracts students, but also extra -curricular reading locations such as the town hall to spread the joy of reading. After the reading, the children received pins with the cycling motif-a small but fine souvenir of this special day.
a festival for the literature
The Düsseldorf reading festival was launched in 2008 to awaken enthusiasm for reading in children. The festival is supported by numerous organizations, including the Düsseldorf Foundation Pro Training and Fortuna Düsseldorf. The event is organized by committed volunteers who offer free readings and many other literary activities. Current information can be found on the website www.lesban.de.
