Armed group Paladin: Judgments against Corona resisters in Koblenz
A shocking verdict was made in Koblenz! Three men who joined a criminal organization called “Paladin” were convicted after they rebelled armed against the government's Corona measures. The 39-year-old main defendant, identified as the mastermind, received a prison sentence of two years and nine months. His accomplices, aged 57 and 64, were given suspended sentences but must each pay 1,000 euros to the state treasury.
Armed resistance against the state
The presiding judge Julia Rau left no doubt that the group was founded with the aim of armed resistance against the state. The main defendant had already called for an armed struggle in 2020 and was looking for supporters. The men met regularly to conduct paramilitary exercises and even made weapons using 3D printers, including a crossbow. Behavior that the court classified as extremely questionable.
The trial was marked by dramatic scenes. The main defendant caused a stir with his heckling and a confused monologue and was then excluded from the courtroom. Judge Rau spoke of an “outburst of aggression” and described the trial as a “huge show”. The men, who portrayed themselves as frightened citizens, were ultimately exposed by the court as part of a dangerous conspiracy.
