Ballet star Rebecca Horner brings art project All Eyes on Us in the light

Gütersloh, Deutschland - Rebecca Horner, an outstanding ballet dancer, is part of the innovative art project "All Eyes on Us", which was initiated by Franz Josef Baur. This project aims to conduct a deep dialogue about perception, presence and being seen. According to oe24.at , Horner will bring in her special presence and vulnerability in order to create a new picture of closeness and observation. The photographer Hilde van Mas works with BAUR on a series of pictures that includes fragmented eye compositions, powerful portraits and expressive ceramics.

The central focus of the project is on the subject of the gaze and observation. In a world that is full of looks, it addresses the feeling of being abandoned. Baur describes Horner as impressive and emphasizes her body work, which further deepens the artistic dialogue. The pictures that emerged from this project are to be exhibited in June 2025 and are likely to arouse great interest.

art in public space

The “All Eyes On Us” project is an excellent example of the growing importance of art in public space. As the platform kubionline.de , theater halls, concert houses and museums have the responsibility to promote access to art. Art projects that take place in public spaces aim to contact the population in direct contact.

Since the 1960s and 1970s, art movements such as land art and public art have been using public space as a platform for creative forms of expression. Examples of this are the "Grenzpoesie" campaign by Dorit Ehlers, where citizens submit photos of places that need change, or "Art for the Sky", which creates gigantic human images to raise awareness of climate change. These projects impressively illustrate how art not only offers aesthetic experiences, but also takes up social issues and encourages reflections.

city tours to art

In order to draw attention to art in public space, the urban department of culture organizes guided tours under the motto "Art in public space". These take place on November 12th. Two tours are planned: the first at 1 p.m. along the Dalke and the botanical garden, and the second at 5 p.m. through the Gütersloh city center, with well -known and overlooked works of art being discovered. The guided tours are free of charge and take around an hour each, even with slight rainy weather.

The organization of such tours shows the endeavors to promote cultural education in non-institutional contexts, as guetersloh.de . Registration is possible via the Kulturportal Gütersloh and everyone is invited to become part of this artistic journey of discovery.
