Deutsche Bahn and Flixtrain: Europe's worst in the travel test!

Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Flixtrain have achieved poor results in a current comparison with 27 European rail operators. The state DB ranks in a disappointing 16th place, while the private competition of Flixtrain only takes 20th place. This information comes from a survey of Transport & Environment (T&E), an organization that works for sustainable traffic. In particular, the ticket prices were weighted as a decisive criterion in the evaluation, where the DB and Flixtrain also remain behind the European leaders such as Trenitalia from Italy and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). Despite their cheaper prices - Flixtrain is four times cheaper at three cents per kilometer than the DB - both providers have to make considerable improvements with regard to service and reliability. However, Deutsche Bahn convinces in the booking experience category with an above -average value of 9.6, while Flixtrain ends up 17th with 3.9 points.
