Tijan Sila, a writer living in Kaiserslautern, was awarded the Martha Saalfeld Prize in December 2024. The prize is endowed with 8,000 euros and was presented by Culture Minister Katharina Binz.
The award is linked to the poetry lectureship at the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University (RPTU) Kaiserslautern-Landau, which Sila will take up in the winter semester of 2024/25. At the award ceremony, RPTU performing arts students will also present a scenic production from Silas' novel “Krach”, which deals with topics such as youth, punk music and migration.
