Volunteering with heart: Bock Prize is looking for committed people from refugee backgrounds!
The Bock Prize 2025 is just around the corner! For the seventh time, the Ute Bock refugee project will honor refugees for their outstanding voluntary commitment. This coveted prize was launched on the occasion of the first anniversary of Ute Bock's death and honors people who, despite their own challenges, actively contribute to strengthening the social community in Austria. The nomination period for all those who demonstrate commitment runs until March 9, 2025 APA-OTS reported.
Among the nominees, both asylum seekers and all people with a refugee biography can be honored, regardless of their residence and procedural status. This great initiative not only offers a platform for recognition, but also a chance to win one of three vouchers for the “Food Without Borders” restaurant at Yppenplatz in Vienna. An independent and top-class jury, which includes prominent members such as Social Minister Johannes Rauch and presenter Barbara Stöckl, will evaluate the participants and determine the lucky winners. The awards ceremony will take place on April 10, 2025, confirmed Fraubock.
Volunteering in focus
The Bock Prize is not only an expression of appreciation for the nominators, but also an opportunity to highlight the importance of voluntary commitment in society. “Voluntary engagement is a foundation for solidarity and cohesion,” explained Dr. Alfred Fogarassy, a board member of the project. The award with prize money of 600 euros each, donated by the Fogarassy Private Foundation, is intended to encourage the winners to continue their tireless efforts.
The nomination for the Bock Prize 2025 is a unique opportunity to make the commitment of refugees visible and should help to recognize their positive influence on civil society. The numerous stories and achievements of these people deserve a big stage, which the Bock Prize offers them.
