Rosenbauer AG: Thomas Biringer will be the new Chief Technology Officer from June!

On May 28, 2025, important changes to the board of Rosenbauer International AG were announced. Thomas Biringer, who has been interim Chief Technology Officer (CTO) since February 2024, has been officially appointed to this position. He will take office on June 1, 2025 and will be for a period of three years. Biringer brings extensive experience from the international vehicle industry, including from companies such as MAGNA, BMW and Daimler. He also studied mechatronics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. Particularly noteworthy is his role in setting up a production facility at Rosenbauer in 2009.

Markus Richter, the current Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has informed the Supervisory Board that he would like to terminate his mandate at his own request at the end of June. The Supervisory Board has already approved this request. In the meantime, CEO Robert Ottel will take over the responsibilities of CFO until a succession plan is made. Christian Reisinger, the chairman of the supervisory board, expressly thanked Markus Richter for his work over the past few years.

Rosenbauer International AG: A look at the numbers

Rosenbauer shows impressive economic figures. In 2023, the company recorded an increase in sales to 1,064.5 million euros, compared to 972.2 million euros in 2022. This increase took place despite difficult economic conditions and a cyberattack in February that caused production downtime. Despite the challenges, the company managed to return to profitability, with an EBIT of €37.4 million, following a loss of €10.6 million the previous year.

The positive development is also underpinned by an increase in incoming orders. This rose from 1,230.0 million euros in 2022 to 1,450.3 million euros. The order backlog also reached a historic high of 1,788.0 million euros at the end of the year.
