The parrot protection center on the Althangrund faces a serious challenge: it must leave its location by the end of 2025. But the upcoming demolition of the building to make room for the educational campus of Althangrund forces the ARGE to move, as the magazine reported my district.

The current uncertainty about a new suitable location ensures concern. ARGE club leader Nadine Ziegler explains that the alternative offered in Floridsdorf is not unacceptable to the requirements for the temperature and rental costs. In addition, the association would like to continue working closely with schools in order to present the birds as part of an educational program. "We hope that we will find a neighborhood soon, if possible near Vienna," said Ziegler. The ARGE not only campaigns for the protection of the parrots, but also brings together lovers under these birds, which are looked after by the support of numerous volunteers. This important work happens while the center is confronted with reality that parrots that can be well over 50 years old urgently need help, as the website of parrots protect.

To defuse the financial situation, the ARGE plans different actions. A visit day in the protection center is offered every Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., in which the public can get to know the birds, and a small donation is requested. In addition, the ARGE organizes a punch stand in the Christmas season to collect donations. On Tuesday, December 10th, there will also be a charity evening in the "Hannelore" bar, where students collect donations for the center. The work of the ARGE is crucial, because parrots are highly social animals that need society and a species -appropriate environment.
