Ö3 alarm clock becomes a power team: New voices for the morning!

Austria's largest morning show, the Ö3-Wecker, is getting a new addition to its moderation team. From the end of September 2025, the two new presenters Philipp Bergsmann and Anna Kratki will support the existing duo Gabi Hiller and Philipp Hansa. Ö3 station boss Michael Pauser emphasizes the importance of the Ö3 alarm clock as the leading morning show in Austria and emphasizes the new impulses that the reinforcement will bring.

Philipp Bergsmann, who has been part of Ö3 since 2018, has already made a name for himself by moderating the cross-program Ö3 community show “Ask the whole country”. He also moderates the evening show “Your Music – Your Hit Radio in the Evening” and the “Countdown to the Weekend”. Bergsmann expressed his anticipation of the new task and described presenting the Ö3 alarm clock as the fulfillment of a dream.

New faces in the team

Anna Kratki, a native of Upper Austria, comes from Radio Energy and has also filmed reports for ORF III. She brings valuable experience from working in the Energy morning show and is looking forward to actively shaping the energy and creativity of Ö3.

The redesign of the Ö3 alarm team comes against the background that the long-time presenter Robert Kratky wanted to end his active collaboration with the ORF for health reasons. As the highest-paid presenter at ORF with a gross annual salary of 473,000 euros, Kratky has delighted listeners for many years. On medical advice, he is now focusing on his physical and mental health.

History of the Ö3 alarm clock

The Ö3 alarm clock is a radio show on the Austrian broadcaster Ö3 that has been established since 1968 and has continued to develop. The show reaches over 2.8 million listeners every day. Originally founded by Rudi Klausnitzer and Brigitte Xander, the format has produced several well-known presenters over the years and is now known for its infotainment format. The shows take place Monday to Friday between 5am and 9am and offer a mix of news, entertainment and comedy.

The integration of Bergsmann and Kratki into the Ö3 Wecker team shows the station's willingness to develop dynamically and to continue to offer listeners an exceptional start to the morning. In this new constellation, fans can look forward to fresh accents and exciting content, while the legacy of the Ö3 alarm clock is continued.
