New section commander in St. Lorenz: Alexander Neuhauser elected!
ST. LORENZ/GRIESKIRCHEN: On March 18, 2025, an important election in the fire service in Upper Austria took place - Alexander Neuhauser was elected as the new section commander of the Mondsee fire department section with an impressive 100% of the votes. The election took place in the Keuschen fire station, with Richard Steinkogler from the Vöcklabruck BH as returning officer. The outgoing section commander Manfred Kerschbaumer, who resigned for health reasons, handed over the important office to the previous specialist for radio and communications. Neuhauser is now responsible for 15 fire departments from 8 communities.
The election in the Mondsee section shows how quickly and efficiently changes can be implemented in the fire service. The region's mayors congratulated Neuhauser, whose commitment to the section drone group and the public relations team has already been recognized. In a similar vein, elections also took place in the Grieskirchen district, where all three section fire department commanders were re-elected for another five years with 100% support. Johann Kronsteiner for the Grieskirchen section, Josef Murauer for Haag and Helmut Neuweg for Peuerbach were each elected by their commanders, which strengthens trust and continuity in the fire service.
Unity in responsibility
The new section fire brigade commander sounds ready to take on the responsibility, with OBR Wolfgang Hufnagl thanking the outgoing Manfred Kerschbaumer and his deputy Georg Hausleitner for their achievements to date. This seamless handover shows that the fire service relies on stability. Similar trends could be observed in the elections in the Grieskirchen district, where Kronsteiner received 29 votes, Murauer and Neuweg also received unanimous support. These elections underline the collegial solidarity and trust placed in the leaders of the volunteer fire department and confirm their tireless work in the community.
A real treat for the entire fire brigade community, the trust in their managers was unmistakably shown in these elections, both in St. Lorenz and in Grieskirchen. This provides a solid foundation for future challenges and operations in the field of firefighting, which has become increasingly relevant in recent years.
