Martin Hajart: A mayor for everyone - politics without any party lens!
The People's Party's mayoral candidate, Martin Hajart, stands out visually and politically from his competitors. The slogan “New: for clean urban politics” can be read on his election posters, complemented by a pastel purple background. Hajart emphasizes that he is not interested in party political affiliation: “I want to be a mayor for everyone,” he explains. In a clear statement he announced that he would evaluate political measures regardless of their origin. It is important to create a separation between political responsibility and control on supervisory boards, especially in the context of the LIVA scandal Neues-linz.at reports.
Departure for a new integration policy
Hajart also addresses integration in his political agenda and would like to introduce an obligation to do charitable work for asylum seekers. He criticizes existing structures and calls for tailor-made integration processes that should be supported by sanctions. Hajart sees the need to slow down immigration and instead promote family apartments for Austrian families. Traffic in Linz, another heart project, is to be optimized for the 500,000 people in the greater Linz area in order to better manage commuter flows.
Another focus is on the economy. “The economy is currently under great pressure,” says Hajart, calling for faster procedures for construction projects and support for retailers. An example of his demands is the no of the acting deputy mayor Dietmar Prammer to the reallocation of land for the IT:U, which Hajart describes as a step backwards for Linz. He sees the digital university as a crucial element in the city and calls for clear steps to improve the economic conditions.
