Flood helpers from Marktleuthen: A big thank you for your efforts!
In an impressive effort, the volunteers from the BRK Marktleuthen showed extraordinary commitment during the floods in southern Germany. Between May and December 2024, they worked primarily in the Donau-Ries district and supported the emergency services there with their mobile field kitchen. The helpers provided up to 600 workers with the necessary meals every day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. This responsible work did not go unnoticed, and the brave rescuers received the “Flood Helper Pin 2024” from Prime Minister Markus Söder Frankenpost reported.
Delicious food for the lifesavers
Shortly afterwards, another outstanding operation took place when the BRK helpers became active in Rhineland-Palatinate. Under the leadership of Kevin and Joachim Fischer as well as Thomas Kielmann and Uwe Stiebeling, they set up their mobile kitchen in the disaster area in Neuwied near Koblenz. The four men prepared up to 400 warm meals every day to feed the exhausted helpers from BRK, Malteser and Johanniter. Despite working hard hours from morning to night, they received high praise for their efforts. “After the long days of deployment, the men really deserve a good meal,” emphasized Joachim Fischer in an interview with KV Wunsiedel.
Overall, the BRK Marktleuthen's operations demonstrate enormous commitment and an impressive team effort, which is only possible through such motivated and capable volunteers.
