Burglars strike in Geiselwind and Marktheidenfeld – police are asking for information!

There were two break-ins in the Main-Spessart region on Saturday, which put the Würzburg criminal police on alert. In the first case, an unknown person broke into a terraced house in Geiselwind, Rathausstrasse between 5:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The perpetrator got inside by forcing open the cellar door, ransacked several rooms and escaped with cash and jewelry. There was also no trace of the perpetrator in Marktheidenfeld, where the burglar broke into an upper floor apartment via a balcony door between 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The police emphasized that loot worth a five-figure sum was obtained here. The Würzburg police are asking the public for information about the incidents and are hoping for relevant information that could help clarify the crimes, the Bavarian police reported.

Investigations against municipal employees

At the same time, the Würzburg district office became aware of an investigation against three employees of the district's municipal company. Since the end of December, the public prosecutor's office has been working on this sensitive case, which involved searches of the offices. When District Administrator Thomas Eberth praised the important role of transparency and legal compliance, he also emphasized the high appreciation for the work of the municipal company. “It is important that the excellent work of the employees is not overshadowed by these current investigations,” explained Eberth, as can be read in a report on the Veitshöchheim blog.

The Würzburg public prosecutor's office handed over the proceedings with the utmost care. Eberth asks for your understanding in the ongoing investigation and is optimistic that clarity will be provided while the authority continues to work intensively for the people of the region. The police and the public prosecutor's office are available to answer questions and provide information in order to quickly clarify both the break-ins and the internal investigation issues.

Details about the break-ins and Investigations into the municipal company can be found in the respective reports.
