Focus on volunteering: thank you celebration in the family house enthusiastically!

In the "House of Family" a very special occasion was recently celebrated: the international day of volunteering on December 5, 2024. Not only was the voluntary work, but also the tireless support of sponsors and helpers. The team in the Prenzlauer Georg-Dreke-Ring thanked everyone who is committed to the community.

Among the guests were members of the association "IG Women and Family", the board and numerous supporters. The children of the "Uckersternchen" daycare center created a exuberant atmosphere with a happy dance under the direction of Anja Rausch. Jörg Kuschel, contact person in the family house, emphasized the importance of volunteering in his welcoming speech: "We thank you for your support, be it by donating or by reporting on our actions. A big thank you to all helpers and members!"

Voluntary engagement in focus

Jan Allan Knudsen, who has been with advice and action for years, was particularly emphasized. Around 50 club members and 15 committed volunteers perform over 2400 hours a year to organize significant events such as the youth consecration. "The preparation, implementation and follow -up of this event alone claim more than 500 working hours," said Jörg Kuschel. He emphasized how important it was to take time for personal conversations and was happy about the lively participation of the supporters.

The positive response of the parents who use the offers of the facility shows how valuable the work of the team is. Sven Karstädt, representative of the IG Women and Family e.V., expressed his appreciation: "We know that it is not a matter of course not to have cooperative supporters as they have at our side. Thank you for helping us."
