Deifeld breaks record: 2315 shoe boxes for needy children!
A new record was set up as part of the “Christmas in the shoebox” campaign in Deifeld, a district of Medebach. A total of 2315 shoe boxes were collected this year, which means an increase of 516 boxes compared to the previous year. These shoe boxes will be sent to Romania this year to give children in need.Timo Jansen, the regional manager, praised the excellent teamwork of the Deifelder team under the direction of Jessica Lefarth. The latter emphasized the great importance of the gifts for the needy children, while helper Heike Grebe reported on the intensive work in the Deifeler Schützenhalle, where the boxes were checked and packed. The team thanked all supporters and donors for their help.
commitment and fundraisers
As part of a traditionally kept Christmas campaign in Medebach, the Deifelder team was supported this year by the "Donation instead of sending" initiative. Mayor Thomas Grosche presented an amount of 400 euros to Nicole Hellwig and Julia Welticke-Schmidt for 20 helpers. Grosche found out about the campaign and praised the voluntary commitment of women.
The Deifeler team depends on support all year round and accepts both money and donations in kind. For discovered offers for writing utensils or toys, the team makes targeted purchases. The boxes are stacked not only in the "hot phase" in October and November, but also at other times, so that every form of help is very welcome.
