Carstenträger: Bavaria-SPD ready for the federal election campaign!

The Bavarian SPD has taken a strategic step for the upcoming federal elections on February 23rd. With Carstenträger, an experienced MP from Fürth and in the Bundestag for eleven years, at the top of the state list, the party is expecting a combative election. At the state representative meeting in Bamberg, the 51-year-old received an overwhelming 81 percent of the votes from over 120 delegates Main Echo reported. Together with his co-chair Carolin Wagner, who is running in eighth place,träger wants to lead the SPD into the race as a strong force in order to improve the currently low poll numbers, which see the party at only 9 percent.

Another key player in the Bundestag faction is Bernd Rützel, who was elected in 9th place and currently chairs the Labor and Social Affairs Committee. This underlines the relevance of his position, as Rützel, who has been in the Bundestag since 2013, returned to his Main-Spessart constituency with 21.5 percent of the first votes. He was recently elected chairman of the committee by his colleagues in a secret ballot, where he received the support of his group with 43 out of 45 votes. How Bundestag.de reports, Rützel is considered a central figure in integrating social issues into the upcoming election campaign.

Carrier emphasizes the dangers that the Union's possible government participation could pose for important projects such as the Deutschlandticket or a reform of the debt brake. In his optimistic application speech, he stated that the SPD, under the leadership of Olaf Scholz, could potentially once again become the strongest political force. With calls for a minimum wage of 15 euros per hour, he wants to do justice to the rising cost of living and thus mobilize voters.
