Rock to B33: Record pace for security before Christmas!
Aggsbach Dorf, Österreich - A huge rock fall has significantly impaired the B33 near Aggsbach village, but the cleanup is said to be quicker. State Councilor and LH deputy Udo Landbauer proudly reported that a large block of 125 cubic meters was successfully blown up last week. This massive boulder, which was considered a danger to security, was brought to the distance with around 20 kilos of emulsion explosives. The preparations were already completed at the beginning of December, the associated security measures and 200 rock nails, which were supposed to connect to the demolition surface, were efficiently installed, such as reported.
After the rock fall of June 3, 2024, a plan for risk was quickly drawn up. Landbauer emphasized that the work must be carried out in a structured manner from top to bottom to ensure security for the workers. The Breath rock area endangered too much so that comprehensive security is necessary before the falling mass can be started. The clearing of around 900 cubic meters of loose material will be evaluated from December 16, followed by further security measures that are said to be completed until shortly before Christmas, informed meindezirk.at .
The busy B33 is expected to be released again before Easter, which is of great importance for the local economy. "We are doing everything we can to restore mobility and planning security for the region as quickly as possible," said Landbauer. At the moment there are 8,500 working hours, according to an effective use of various specialists, which underlines the urgency and seriousness of the work.
