New Hüttau train station: Ennstalbahn becomes the mobility artery of the future!

Hüttau, Österreich - The modernization of the Ennstalbahn between Bischofshofen and Selzthal has reached an important milestone with the completion of the new Hüttau stop. After only eight months of construction, the new train station, which replaces the previous "Hüttau Terminal", will be put into operation on December 15, 2024. The stop was built in the town center, directly opposite the municipal office, and ensures maximum comfort with its barrier-free access, modern LED lighting and a weather-protected waiting area. "The new train station is the first large visible piece of puzzle of the modernized Ennstalbahn," said Judith Engel, director of ÖBB-Infrastructure AG, like Meinbezirk.at reported.

In addition to this new stop, the extensive modernization of the Ennstalbahn also includes the redesign of around 40 railway crossings, the first of which concerns the intersection in Trautenfels. Here the outdated hand -operated barrier system is brought up to date to increase security for all road users. The main work at this intersection is expected to begin in July and require a temporary blocking to ensure that the work can be carried out efficiently. These measures create the prerequisites for a remote control of the systems, as well as ÖBB-Presse carried out.

long -term plans for the Ennstalbahn

The modernization of the Ennstalbahn continues until 2030 and includes the modernization or new construction of ten other train stations as well as the construction of seven electronic signal boxes. This should not only significantly improve user -friendliness, but also the safety and efficiency of the route. Further conversions in Haus im Ennstal and other stations are planned in the coming year. Instead, "Hüttau Terminal" continues to be used for freight transport, which benefits logistics in the region. Through these strategic measures, the Ennstalbahn is strengthened as a central mobility axis for public transport in the region and thus made fit for the challenges of the future.
