Öcalan demands the end of the PKK fight: a step towards reconciliation?
Abdullah Öcalan, the founder of the banned workers' party Kurdistan (PKK) since 1999, has announced a pioneering step: he calls his organization to end the armed fight against Turkey and asks them to dissolve. On Thursday, Öcalan announced this on the Imrali prison island near Istanbul, where he is imprisoned as a trait.
