Vacation favorites of the Germans: Why the Baltic Sea is at the top!

Sächsische Schweiz, Deutschland - Germany is a country full of travel gourmet, and the choice of travel destination could not be clearer: While the sea attracts the masses, the Baltic Sea undisputedly remains the crowning glory of the holiday destinations! Over 40% of Germans dream of beach walks and moments of relaxation in the waves. But the North Sea also strikes the table with a proud 35.2% and competes with the popular Baltic Sea for the favor of vacationers.

In an insightful survey by TUI and Appinio, in which 2,000 Germans aged 18 to 65, the results show that travel in Germany is not only popular, but also take place in your own country! More than half of the Saxons are totally enthusiastic about the Baltic Sea as its main travel destination. But the Lake Constance and the Black Forest are also booming, while Saxon Switzerland is ranks in the back places with the Ore Mountains.

What is a coveted destination? Almost 60%of the Germans admit that the price is crucial, especially in Saxony (60.4%) and Saxony-Anhalt (65.4%). There are also factors such as the weather and the impressive nature on site. The survey also reveals what the holidaymakers lack: your own bed! 32.9% of the respondents can hardly do without the domestic mattress, while pets almost a large hole in the heart.

Some travelers also miss the delicious domestic dishes and the good German beer, which is the greatest lack for 17.3% of the Saxony-Anhalt. But not all holidaymakers mourn afterwards: over a quarter of the lucky ones do not even complain about privation on their travels! So the desire to travel remains unbroken - regardless of whether by the sea or in the mountains.
