Daniel Glattauer: A train ride full of love and surprising turns!
Daniel Glattauer, the celebrated author, launches his latest work "In a Train", with an impressive starting circuit of 100,000 to 200,000 copies. As the Kleine Zeitung , this book follows his previous novel "You do not feel", in which he dealt with the topic of migration. Now, however, he has opted for a "feel -good book" in which he celebrates the joy of writing. In his new story, he puts the main character Eduard Brünhofer on a train on a trip from Vienna to Munich, where it is confronted with various interpersonal relationships.
Glattauer itself describes his new work as a Smithesque story that impresses with unexpected twists and encourages the reader with the topic of love. "For me, love is the most exciting topic," says the author, who is very familiar in the world of emotions. In an interview, he explains that the ideas for his stories often emerge from a sudden letter of writing and do not be long in coming. When asked about his writing method, the 64-year-old replies that he does not like to get involved in conversation while he observes life outside of the train window, which shapes both him and his characters.
A new pact with the Dumont Verlag
In his collaboration with the German Dumont Buchverlag Successful and benefits from an extensive media campaign that focuses on his new book. With a special marketing train, the publisher has equipped review copies with a game on the topic of "Questions for more together", which aims to promote discussions. In addition, the publisher landed a coup by applying the book in station skiosks - a perfect location to address readers on the story on the train. His goal is not only to entertain readers, but also to give them the opportunity to experience love in a new way while they re -leaf out the sides.
