Towage and return: FPÖ boss Kickl denounces 1,000 euros for Syrians!
Austria's Ministry of the Interior has introduced a controversial “home trip bonus” of 1,000 euros for Syrian citizens who want to return to their home country voluntarily. This measure ensures heated discussions and is sharply criticized by FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl. Kickl describes this financial support as a "hit in the face of its own population", which suffers from the high inflation. He criticizes that taxpayers should pay for the return aid, while many Syrians have received social benefits for years. According to Kickl, this could cost the Austrian taxpayers up to a hundred million euros, especially in view of the tense financial situation of the country, which was caused by the black and green government. Minister Gerhard Karner from the ÖVP is also about a criticism. In a public statement, Kickl called for an urgently needed change of course in refugee policy, instead of the "journey home bonus", a comprehensive "focus campaign remigration" had to be launched. This plan provides for the protection status to be recognized for many Syrians and carry out consistent deportations. The social welfare process among Syrians is 74 percent in Vienna and around 30 percent throughout Austria, which, according to Kickl, is no longer portable. According to his words, the Austrian government must immediately take action in order to take a return of Syrians that do not voluntarily return to their homeland.
