The collapse of the Assad regime also led to a drastic military reaction of Israels . Israel launched air strikes on Syria and sent ground troops in and beyond a demilitarized buffer zone founded in 1974. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that he had commissioned the army to conquer this demilitarized "separation area" between the Golanhöhen occupied by Israel and the rest of Syria.
The future government of Syria
A government guide connected to the rebels, Mohammad al-Bashir, was appointed the state's prime minister for the next three months. During this time, his government will monitor Syria's transition to a new government, as he announced in a television language on December 10th.
