Sanition on the train: shock in Pakistan after brutal attack!

In a shocking incident in the troubled province of Belutschistan, Pakistan, armed separatists attacked a train and took passengers as hostages. On Tuesday, around 100 attackers stormed a train with around 425 passengers on the route from Quetta to Peschawar, whereby the separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) took responsibility for the crime. According to reports, there was a bloody conflict in which 21 people, including four soldiers, were killed. After the military forces reacted, all attackers are said to have been killed.

the hostage -taking and its fatal turn

The situation escalated quickly and apparently more than 300 passengers were saved during the liberation campaign. At the beginning of the hostage -taking, around 400 to 450 people were on the train. The rebels had called for the release of the BLA to be released from the government, which also dramatized their actions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was affected and explained that the whole country was "deeply shocked by this hideous act". The United Nations also condemned violence and demanded the release of all hostages.

Belutschistan, which is located in the southwest of Pakistan and borders Afghanistan and Iran, is one of the poorest regions in the country, although it is rich in oil and other resources. The BLA, the most active separatist group in the region, has strengthened its attacks on security forces in recent years and demands more autonomy and a larger proportion of natural resources, as from the reports of OE24 and Zeit.de .
