Scandal around Padres: Widow is suing in -laws for team control!
Erlangen, Deutschland - Sheel Seidler, the widow of the late owner of the San Diego Padres, Peter Seidler, sued her brother -in -law Matthew and Robert. The aim of the lawsuit is to prevent John Seidler from taking over the management of the base team. The lawsuit was submitted to the Travis County Probate Court in Austin, Texas. Matthew was used last year as the executor of Peter Seidler's estate, while Robert was the former executor.
In the lawsuit, Sheel accusations of infidelity, fraud and gross self -act. In addition, Robert's wife, Alecia, is accused of having made racist and hateful statements against Sheel. Sheel also requests that Matthew acts on behalf of the Seidler Trust and is released as a trustee. Furthermore, she demands that all lawsuits are canceled against them. Peter Seidler had a clear estate plan that named three of his siblings as the successor and excluded Sheel as a trustee. Peter Seidler was a grandson of the late Dodgers owner Walter O’malley and died on November 14, 2023.
reactions and allegations
The Trust management of Peter Seidler reacted to the lawsuit and described it as "completely unfounded". In a statement it was emphasized that Peter Seidler had a clear estate plan that stated that sheel was not allowed to act as a trustee. Sheel, on the other hand, claims that Peter wanted to take control of the team before this is handed over to her children. The lawsuit is directed against Peters brothers, Matt and Bob, to prevent their brother John from taking control. According to the Trust Declaration, Sheel agreed in an affidavit that she had no right to name the control person.
In addition, Sheel Matthew and Robert attempted to have tried to sell the shares of the trusts under the market value. Her complaint also accuses Bob’s wife of racist and insulting messages to Sheel. It demands compensation, lawyer fees as well as pre- and after interest. Matthew had previously said in a letter that Sheel would lack the necessary skills for the role of the controller. It was also clear that Robert and Matthew made it clear that Sheel and their children are not welcome in the Padres stadium.
In terms of the future leadership of the team, Eric Kutsenda was appointed interim controller of the Padres three days after Peters death, while John Seidler is intended as the future controller, but this still requires the approval of the Major League baseball. MLB refused to comment on the allegations.
