In Bützfleth, Stade, a drunk driver was stopped on his daring escape from the police. The incident happened on Tuesday morning around 6 a.m. when a green Peugeot was noticed for driving dangerously on the L111 in Barnkrug. The driver overtook at a significantly excessive speed and endangered other road users.
The police then launched a search and were able to locate the Peugeot on Mühlenweg in Bützfleth. The vehicle had no license plates and the occupants were already known to the officers. The 23-year-old driver from Stade tried to escape from the police, but lost control of the car. He broke through a wooden fence and ultimately collided with a boulder, which made the vehicle impassable.

The driver had a breath alcohol level of over 2.4 per mille and did not have a valid driving license. Furthermore, the vehicle was unregistered and had no insurance cover. The police have opened an investigation against him, which includes:

There was another incident in Bützow, where a 35-year-old German driver in a Mercedes was stopped by the police. The driver also attracted attention because of his erratic driving style and ignored the officers' stop signals. After a short chase, the vehicle was finally stopped on Bahnhofstrasse.
As reported, the driver had a breath alcohol level of 2.53 per mille and was also under the influence of narcotics. He had stolen license plates on an unregistered vehicle and did not have a valid driver's license. As a result of his behavior, the man announced further crimes and was taken into custody by police as he was unable to look after himself. In this context, several investigations were initiated by the criminal police in Bützow.
