On Monday morning, December 16, a serious traffic accident occurred on Landstrasse 38 between Hangelsberg and Grünheide. At around 7.55 a.m., two cars came together for an unknown cause, one of the vehicles being thrown into a ditch by the impact. Several rescue workers, including a rescue helicopter, were immediately alerted to take care of the injuries, such as the MAZ reported.

An occupant suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Bad Saarow Clinic after initial care on site. Three other people suffered minor injuries and were also brought to surrounding hospitals. Landstrasse 38 had to be temporarily completely blocked for the rescue and recovery measures, which led to significant traffic disruptions. The police have started the investigation into the cause of the accident, which is previously unclear.
