Police heroic act: 83-year-old rescued outdoors after night!

A dramatic rescue scenario took place in Wels on Thursday, December 19th, when the two highway police officers Michael and David acted as tireless lifesavers for an 83-year-old man. The senior had parked his car at a gas station and had to spend the entire night outside. At around 7:40 a.m., the Wels police received an emergency call about the abandoned vehicle with the driver's door wide open. The officers immediately alerted their colleagues and viewed the gas station's surveillance camera. It turned out that the man had already left the car that night, around 11.30 p.m., and disappeared into the darkness, like that Krone reported.

A comprehensive search in the surrounding area led the police officers to the senior citizen's trail around two hours later. The two officers found him leaning against a fence about 300 meters away in a high meadow. The 83-year-old was in critical condition - completely wet, hypothermic and barely responsive. Michael and David, supported by colleagues from the traffic accident squad, immediately intervened and carried the older gentleman to their vehicle. They provided first aid on site until rescue arrived. The man was eventually taken to the Wels Clinic, where he was treated accordingly, according to information from My district.
